Copenhagen Airport - Nudging

Copenhagen Airport

New passport rules for the Schengen Area would potentially create significant problems for Copenhagen Airport; long queues, missed departures, and connecting flights, tons of unclaimed luggage and cancelled flights.

Using nudging principles, the area in front of passport control was divided into three zones that ensured all passengers had their passport ready when they reached the passport control officer.

The results were conclusive. The waiting time in peak hours was reduced by 18% and 100% of all travellers had their passport ready at passport control.
